Wisteria sinensis is a deciduous climber that is found naturally in parts of China. Masses of purple flowers swamp this climber starting in spring. It is very vigorous so care must be taken to ensure that it doesn't get out of control. It needs a strong, solid archway or pergola to grow on so that its strong woody stems dont warp and twist the structure.
